From Steward to the Boardroom
Arsalan’s journey is one that many in our industry will find deeply inspiring. He began his career at the age of 18 as a steward at Stadium Industry, learning the craft of crowd management from the ground up in real environments and amongst real crowds. From those early days on the terraces, he methodically built his experience through frontline roles, developing a deep and instinctive understanding of public-facing security operations that no classroom alone can teach.
His time in the police service gave him a distinctive perspective, one that bridges the disciplined frameworks of law enforcement with the commercial realities and dynamic demands of the private security sector.
Following his policing career, he spent over 11 years progressing through the private security sector, rising into senior leadership and overseeing large-scale deployments at national events for more than 15 years. It is this breadth of experience from steward to constable to strategic leader that makes his voice on the IPSA board such a valuable one.
Qualifications That Reflect a Lifelong Commitment to the Profession
Arsalan holds an Event Management Degree alongside an extensive portfolio of professional qualifications, including Level 4 in Spectator Safety, Level 5 in Crowd Management, Level 6 in Health and Safety, CCTV Operations and advanced restraint, assessor and teaching qualifications. He is also an accredited security trainer for several recognised awarding bodies, delivering training programmes that support individuals entering and progressing within the profession. His academic hardship, combined with decades of hands-on experience, positions him as one of the most comprehensively qualified professionals in the UK events and crowd safety space.
